Gazing Into The Past
It was twenty years ago this
week I moved to Texas.
Little did I know the loan from my Auntie was the next,
Fork in the road I wandered,
The weather was colder then
that I left and the reception was just a tad cooler.
Remember a happy wife makes a happy husband a fool, by letting the wife be the
ruler
A lesson learned but somehow lost
Texans are friendly and so
much fun
The prettiest women, surpassed by none.
The law’s still the same and you can only have one!
Life in the Lone Star has been
by far the best
A wonderful daughter, a wife, a home and the rest
Give thanks with blessings and hope for continued success.
The Texas past has appeared
like a movie
With a power and grace that totally moved me
It is strange how things work out.
Little did I know the past
would appear in the form of a ledger.
Drawing me in deeply, pleading for writing with full measure
As I read and gaze deep into the heart of Texas.
