The last concert of the season, given by the Staunton Musical Association at the Chapel of the D.D. & B Institution, on Friday night last, was well attended, and the large audience enjoyed a fine entertainment. The music, both vocal and instrumental, was excellent, was enjoyed very much even by those who are not ordinary much “moved by the concord of sweet sounds.” The audience appreciated and applauded the skillful execution of the various pieces, and the solo by Miss Apperson was rapturously encored. We express it mildly when we say that the reading by Prof. Scharf of the famous trail of Bardell vs. Pickwick, and his recital of Shamus O’Brien, were intensely enjoyed by the audience. This entertainment was, we are pleased to say, in every respect a success all performed well their parts, the audience was delighted with the entertainment, and the amount of the receipts was satisfactory to the “Association”-it paid well both performers and auditors, and consequently both were well pleased.
