A Clear and Present American Travesty
Am I a traitor for speaking my mind;
Against what others believe so hard to find?
Are we not free or are some too blind to see;
Absorbed in the moment, unwilling to be free?
Arabs and Americans are today placed into prison.
Abducted for reasons that are no longer given.
Alleged accusations are made by the hoard;
Allegiance to country while their rights are ignored.
Absent-minded we speak what others have thought;
About-face for the reason why others have fought.
Abrasive enough to dare think or to say,
Abolish our freedom? We will dearly pay.
Abate this right and that right, it will slowly take hold.
Abnormal times are these - so do as you're told!
Agreement is easy, now be a good sheep,
Alert is the country, but really asleep.
Abandon our freedoms for what I dare say?
Acquiescing our liberties, it's the crime of our day.
Alienable rights is the true meaning
Amnesia to all while the twilight's last gleaming.
